I made it; for the third time in my life, I’m a college student. At the start of the year, this was not what I hoped for at this stage but the opportunity has presented itself and so off I go.
After leaving my last employment, under my own steam – but by now I could have been sacked anyway – nothing had turned up so under the wife’s urging, mainly out of a worry that I would just vegetate under my own misery and preceived failings, I enrolled in the AAT level 2 course in accountancy at the Acton campus of West London College (I’m not going to say much more on that).
I’m hoping to keep this as up-to-date as I can, as I go through the next two years, with the possibility of something worthwhile at the end, or even during. It’ll mean hardship and struggles but I fell that it will all come good in the end. Lets see what assistance I can gather from the college to ease this burden on the wife.
Today’s induction was fairly swift and so there was time for a lesson on the Accountancy equation, “Assets=Capital+Liabilities”. All that which had been locked away from the last college sojourn, back in 99-01, started to seep past the little grey cells and back to the forefront of my mind. Let’s hope it continues. I shall set aside time on Sunday to complete the homework, which at the start is no problem but let’s start as we mean to go on.
The rest of my fellow students appear to be a very varied bunch but we shall see who stays the course through to the end. There’s kids in their early 20s, up to and beyond myself (pushing 40, ahem), so we shall see what kind of groups everyone descends into.
PS There will be a fairly strict anonymity policy on here towards anyone who is mentioned on here. The names you see, other than mine and the wife, will not be their actual names. Daft, I’m not.
PPS Congratulations if you can translate the Latin blog title… smarta*se!
