Its been a bit of a hectic 24 hours, with much to think about, consider and evaluate, especially so this morning. Last night, I agreed to take on the position of Press Officer at Hampton & Richmond FC, after being sounded out last weekend.
Here’s the official statement:
The club are delighted to announce the appointment of a new press officer as part of the clubs new marketing strategy. Rob Overfield will be taking on the role for the coming season. Rob who has assisted over the past two seasons with match reports and programme articles will be heading up the press team with the focus on getting the club’s name out as much as possible and providing information to fans and media on a regular basis.
Speaking about his appointment Rob said “I’m looking forward to raising the profile of the Beavers, both locally and further afield. It will be a challenge, a deeply enjoyable one, and I look forward to working with everyone within the club.”
The club are planning an upgrade to the official website as well as making more use of social media to increase the media coverage of Hampton & Richmond Borough FC.
So there you have it, I’m now in a position of responsibility, and a club official to boot. It’ll mean some hard work but with this, that’ll be no chore. Already the first of the press releases have gone out with regards to the pre-season fixtures, so I’ve tried to hit the ground running. I’m lucky in that there will be those pre-season games with which to develop routines and methods that will suit me well, which I’m sure will come together. Yep, where will all this lead? For the first time in a long time, there’s something for me to focus completely on.
